PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Before joining Platform Realty Group, Felton McLaughlin was a partner in a Capital Region real estate investment group. Portfolio properties included multi-family, industrial, and commercial properties in Albany and Saratoga counties. Because of his background in working for technology start-ups, he has also been active in Tech Valley Angels Network and High Peaks Venture Partners, both Capital District investment groups dedicated to funding start-up companies in the region. Prior to his move to the Capital Region, Felton spent 15 years in and around New York City working in the technology industry with start-up companies supplying investment-oriented databases and software to Wall Street securities firms. At Multex.com (now part of Reuters), he was one of the early recruits who helped launch a real-time equity research service for investment managers. He helped oversee the growth of the company from 20 employees in 1994 through several venture financing rounds before going public in 1999 with over 500 employees and $90 million in sales. Before joining Multex, he spent six years at Thomson Financial in various executive positions, in addition to a three-year stint on Wall Street with Shearson Lehman Brothers, now part of Citigroup.
